Naughty Inchies Set #2!

Uhg! I have been so busy with work! I've had these done for a few days now, but haven't had a chance to upload photos and such! I'm also working very hard on a doll for a special someone! Work takes all of my fun time :(
Anyway, enough belly aching! Here is the second set of naughty alphabet inchies!
Ape shit for A. Water color illustration and glitter poop!
G is a surprise one! It has a flap on the outside that looks harmless, but when you open it up, POW! Not so subtle!
Muff for M. Watercolors and fake fur.
Stocking for S. Watercolor, a bit of real lace, and some ink drawing.
Yellow snow for Y. I used layers of crystal glitter and yellow water color paint! Looks yucky! I embossed it with clear powder to keep the glitter on. Gives it a fun texture.

Here is what is under the flap of the G inchie! Gonads! Those anatomy classes came in handy for once. Ink drawn illustration with subtle water color tint.

Oh my! These sort of make me blush even though I have a mouth like a sailor! They sure are fun to make though! I can't wait to shock my partners a bit! The next set should be good too, I have lots of fun ideas already.

Feeling Better!

I'm feeling much better after my bout of stomach flu! I made another ATC as well!
"Fly Away" It is a vintage image I tinted, paper cut bird, and collage elements. Super fun to do. Already traded too!

I'm working away on my latest doll as well. Also making a special set of birds for SpookyPooky for her wedding! I just need to finish details and they will be ready! I'm also working on a set of naughty themed alphabet inchies! They will be going to new homes and I'll get a wonderful set in return. Today is my only day off from work this week so I better go make the most of it!

Fairy Picture!

I feel so bad about forgetting the fairy picture that Woodland_Fairie made me so it gets it's own post! Right now it is sitting on my alter waiting for the perfect frame! I haven't found one yet, but trust me I'm still searching.
Erin made this with the water color pencils I sent her! It is so beyond amazing! The colors are so wonderful and the smoothness of her skin is unreal! It's future home is in my living room, but until I find a frame my alter is the safest place for it to be. May I present you the Princess of Pansies!

A close up of my wonderful scarf was also request! It is super soft fuzzy yarn crocheted over very soft regular yarn! I wanted to do an action shot, but after getting the flu last night you don't want to see what I look like today!

So even though I'm feeling sicky I still want to wish all my fellow lads and lasses a Happy St. Patrick's Day! Instead of a smiling pic of my Irish face, how about a smiling pic of my sweet little dog!

Woodland_Faerie Goodies!

I finally had some sunshine and time to take pics of the things Woodland_Faerie sent me in our last personal swap! I didn't get everything in the pics as the things have worked their way into my daily life! There was also a great vintage craft book, some vintage fabric scraps, and a purse charm.
Here is the most awesome scarf! She doesn't even crochet! I just love the little glass mushrooms on it! She also made me the coolest wrist cuff with wood ear mushrooms on it. The wood grain pattern on the cuff is wonderful too! Then there is the little gnome necklace that is now worn each day to work!

Erin also made me another prayer flag for my collection! I have them all hung up in the hallway and didn't want to take it down for the photo so please excuse the silly angle!

Thanks Erin! I love everything so much!

More ATC's!

Uhg, I know! All I've shared lately are ATC's! I can't share anything else I'm making at the moment because it is for a swap! So I'll just share the latest 4 ATC's I made last night.

I went on a great little road trip this weekend and bought a bunch of new papers, fabric, and lots of other goodies at the craft store!

From left to right:

"Lucky" "A Birdie Told Me" "Paint Them Red" and "Swirly Bird"

Lots of new techniques including clear embossing powder over the bird inchie in Swirly Bird. Makes it sort of like resin!

I swear I'll have something to share other than ATC's soon!

Just Another ATC Day!

Since I can't share other things I'm working on because they are super duper surprises, I thought I'd share another ATC. I love doing a couple ATC's before work each day. Just a little time all to me in the quiet of my studio. Messy as it may be, it is my fave room in the house! Doing a little art before work also helps me start my day out in a wonderful way. Where it goes from there is any one's guess!

I barely got this one on Flickr and someone was wanting it!
I think this style is my new fave thing! A friend named it "romantic grunge". "Poppies" Vintage text, texture stamp (a win from OWOH!) paper flowers, inks, and chalk pastels.

Great Science

I just wanted to share a series of 4 ATC I made using a wonderful book I picked up at a yard sale last summer. It features great scientists. The illustrations are wonderful and look great when I tint them with chalk pastels. I used collage, chalk pastel tinting, and inks.

Madame Curie (1) Einstein (2) Darwin (3) Lavoisier (4)

More IYP!

I shared the dolls I made for Mindy in the IYP yesterday, but I thought today I'd share the other goodies I sent! I made her this patchwork belt from some Amy Butler fat quarters I've been hanging on to. It was so much fun to make I have one in the works for myself!

I also created this blue silk rose hair clip. It is on a snap clip so if she doesn't want to wear it in her hair it can be snapped onto a purse or somewhere else.

Mindy really liked some art I did a while back with fish. I decided turtles were the way to go! I appliqued fabric turtles onto heavy duty watercolor paper and then did the background with chalk pastels. Mindy said she has a frame for it! I can't wait to see it all framed up.
Last, but not least I had some fun with black shrinky and made this cute little mermaid pendant. I also made the necklace with brass chain, findings, and pearls.

I have need to get pics still of a wonderful package Woodland_Faerie sent me, but with work I just never have time with sunlight to get pics! Maybe tomorrow morning before work if it isn't foggy!

Finally, Somthing I Can Share!

After having nothing to share for a long time I can finally share the things I worked so hard on for the IYP swap over on Craftster.org! The stuff arrived at it's home yesterday and is being much loved.

First off Mindy collects Raggedy Ann stuff. I couldn't not make her an Annie! She is a one of a kind. I didn't make a pattern, just drew the shapes onto fabric and went from there. Annie is tea stained muslin with hand painted features and tea stained vintage fabric clothing. Her hair is hand spun yarn I received in another swap on Craftster.

If you 'd like to see a picture of Annie's undies jump on over to flickr!

This is Nee'Lahn the tree nymph. She was another part of Mindy's package! Mindy loves trees and I just so happened to be reading a wonderful book with a tree nymph in it! I based her on the character. Nee'Lahn holds a mama bird that I sculpted from paper clay. A tiny wee nest sits in her hair with an egg. She has a vine necklace with a sculpted acorn as well. I am so in love with her little red capped mushroom shoes! They were so much fun to make! Nee'Lahn is a modified poppet with my inset eye technique. If you'd like to see many more pics of her from different angles feel free to browse my flickr stream.
This is only part of Mindy's package, but I think I'll save the next couple of things to share tomorrow!

Just Another ATC

So, since I can't share the things I've made recently until they make it to my swap partner so here is another ATC!

A fun collage piece with a vintage page of German text (thanks Digital Misfit!), princess, window (thanks again Digital!), hand cut bird, hearts, abstract flowers. Tinted with inks and chalk pastels.

I'm having a blast trading ATC's! I never thought it would be my thing, but I'm loving it. Plus, it is a swap I can do while working my busy time! That makes me extra happy!
